A: The Green Energy Partnership Program is a new service sponsored by the Village of Deerfield to help local businesses receive offers for green energy supply from certified suppliers.

Q: Why is the Village of Deerfield sponsoring the Green Energy Partnership Program?

A: The Village created the Green Energy Partnership Program to provide all of the the data gathering, supplier outreach, contract review and pricing comparisons required to make an informed green energy purchasing decision so that local businesses can find sustainable energy options without investing a lot of time and effort.

Q: Will electricity supply through the Green Energy Partnership Program cost more than regular energy supply?

A: Probably not. By removing the broker fees that are usually added into regular energy supply contracts Green Energy Partnership Program offers should be on a level with - or even lower - than standard power supply offers.

​Q: Do I Need to Receive Electricity Supply Service from ComEd?
A: Yes, the Green Energy Partnership Program only serves accounts that are connected to the ComEd distribution system.

Q: What are Renewable Energy Credits?
A: Renewable Energy Credits (REC’s) serve as receipts that demonstrate that a renewable energy resource (wind, solar, etc.) has delivered 1,000 kilowatt-hours of energy to the regional grid.
Q: Can I claim that my business is power with "Renewable Energy" with a supply agreement with a Green Energy Partnership Program supplier?

A: Yes. Electricity consumers that purchase Renewable Energy Credits along with regular electricity from the grid can claim to be using "Renewable Energy".​
